In Scorpion’s Reborn variation, he gains access to Hell Port Cancel. This is very useful because the Hell Port is punishable on block.
There is an advanced technique where you can option select the Hell Port, so that you will get the Hell Port Cancel only if your attack is blocked. This is really strong after single-hit attacks that you normally cannot hit confirm, such as B2 and J3.
In order to do this option select, you must input the Hell Port Cancel later than usual after inputting the Hell Port. If you want to do the Away Hell Port Cancel, then you input Forward late. If you want to do the Behind Hell Port Cancel, then you input Down late.
The reason why this works is because blockstun lasts longer than hitstun. If your attack hits, then your opponent will be in hitstun. If your attack is blocked, then your opponent will be in blockstun. So if you input the cancel during the time your opponent would be in blockstun and not hitstun, then the game will register the Hell Port Cancel only if your attack is blocked.
Although this is a very difficult technique, it gives Scorpion a safe way to hit confirm off of any hit into a full combo.
