Krushing Blow is one of the newer mechanics introduced in Mortal Kombat 11. Krushing Blows are powerful attacks that trigger after meeting certain requirements. Performing a Krushing Blow deals a huge chunk of damage to your opponent, which can turn the tide of the match in your favor. You only get one use for each...

Reads & Reactions

In fighting games there are 2 different terms used when referring to a player's response to an action: reads and reactions. Both are integral skills to have in order to counter an enemy's attacks. Reads A read, to simply put, is an educated guess on what your opponent is going to do next and countering...

Slips’ MK11 Journal 4-23-19

One of the main keys to getting good at fighting games is to stay focused on your daily progression. Here I plan on writing down my thoughts and modifying my strategies, philosophies and ideas to make sure I'm staying on course. Keep in mind there is a healthy amount of theory fighting in this with more ideas than facts. Some things I'll just be blatantly wrong about and will have to change. There will be hypocrisies aplenty. But sometimes you gotta bang into river banks before you head further down stream. In case you didn't know, I am a character specialist and my main is Scorpion so this journal will be mainly about how to optimize Scorpion to my best strengths as a player. The goal of this series is to show how much progression can be made when you focus on improving the little things and don't get caught up in results and negative attitudes. This will most likely benefit myself more than the reader, but it will perhaps give people the perspective on the right attitude to have to reach your goals...and here's to hoping I can maintain that positive attitude as I continue to play lol.
